Who Does Pilates?

Because the Pilates Method promotes a balanced body and mind and thereby is functional in nature, everyone from the strongest athlete to the most deconditioned person stands to benefit.  


Dancers like Martha Graham and Eve Gentry, to athletes like Bob Seed, to the weak, injured, and of course, fit general population stand to benefit from a discipline that promotes the strengthening of weaker muscles while stretching overly tight ones.  

A balanced musculature will promote an ease of movement patterns and therefore lead to a better quality of life.
